Secretary Clare Lewis of the International Ombudsman Institute Visits Taiwan

Secretary Clare Lewis of the International Ombudsman Institute arrived in Taipei in the afternoon of September 9, 2002, for his five-day visit in Taiwan. Lewis made a speech on the second day in the Plenary Meeting of the Control Yuan and received the First Grade Control Yuan Medal, presented by President Fredrick F. Chien to honor his support for the Yuan and contributions to reforms and creation of the international ombudsman affairs. Afterwards, Lewis left for the Presidential Office to meet with President Chen Shui-bian. During his stay in Taiwan, Lewis will also visit Taiwan Taoyuan Women's Prison, Tamkang University and National Palace Museum. Lewis will leave Taiwan on September 13, 2002.
