In order to promote mutual understanding of ombudsman systems and develop firm relations between the Control Yuan and the staff of international ombudsman and human rights offices, the Yuan has established an exchange program between the Control Yuan and other international ombudsman offices. This year from August 23 to 25, Mr. Horacio Eduardo Esber, Director of the Department of Social Rights in the Ombudsman Office of Argentina; Ms. Olga María Blanco Ramírez, Section Chief of the Department of Human Rights Promotion and Education in the Ombudsman Office of Paraguay; and Ms. Marisol Cruz Chirino, Chief Commissioner of Research and Design Committee in the Ministry of Audit of Nicaragua will be in the Control Yuan for three days to observe and study the jurisdictions and operations of the Control Yuan to exchange experiences with each other. The Control Yuan has signed “Agreements of Bilateral Technology and Cooperation” with Paraguay and Argentina. These exchanges will enhance the practices of the agreement and further improve the relationship among the above nations. Moreover, it will constitute a solid foundation to promote the cooperation among the Control Yuan and Ombudsman Offices of Paraguay, Nicaragua and Argentina.
